Project management: common questions

Who is the BSB50820 Diploma of Project Management designed for?

The course may suit project coordinators, administrators, team members and specialists who take responsibility for workplace initiatives. It develops an integrated approach to scope, schedules, costs, quality, people, communication and risk. WBS checks your experience, learning needs, digital capability and access to appropriate project evidence before confirming suitability.

What is an example of using these project skills?

Consider a workplace process-improvement project: define the intended outcome and scope, plan activities and milestones, estimate costs, allocate responsibilities and record risks. During delivery, communicate changes and check progress against the plan. This illustrates how the course topics connect; your actual assessment tasks and evidence requirements will be provided by your assessor. Read more about project management skills in the workplace.

What are the project management diploma assessment requirements?

Assessment may use workplace evidence or realistic project activities, alongside written tasks, projects and demonstrations. Before enrolling, ask WBS to confirm the project context, resources and evidence needed for your assessment, especially if you are not currently working on a project. Access to suitable evidence must be confirmed; prior experience alone does not automatically meet the assessment requirements.

Can I study the Diploma of Project Management online while working?

Online delivery lets you work through structured resources alongside other commitments, with trainer guidance and assessment feedback. Agree realistic study arrangements and confirm commencement, expected duration, technology needs and assessment expectations in writing. Plan access to Moodle, document preparation and submission, and Zoom onboarding. See how online study works; no fixed completion time or career outcome is guaranteed.

Can previous study or project experience be recognised?

Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning are assessed individually using verified evidence. Provide details of completed units and relevant experience before your enrolment and fee arrangements are finalised. WBS will confirm any approved recognition and resulting changes in writing; recognition is not automatic.

How long does the Diploma of Project Management take?

Completion time depends on your available study time, experience, participation and successful completion of all assessment requirements. Discuss your study plan and access to suitable project evidence with WorkForward before enrolling. Online study includes trainer guidance and assessment feedback; there is no guaranteed fixed completion time.
